Lakeville Schools to Consider Revolutionary Security System

3D Response Systems

Updated: Jan 14

The Lakeville Area School Board is evaluating a cutting-edge security solution from local company 3D Response Systems, which aims to deter, distract, and delay active shooters with multi-layered defenses.

The system includes innovative features like shatterproof glass, teacher-controlled safe rooms, and screamer alarms with strobe lights and automated 911 alerts. It also offers tools to aid first responders, such as non-toxic dye to mark intruders and gunshot recognition technology.

Training for staff is integral to the system, incorporating Homeland Security’s run-hide-fight model and equipping teachers with actionable plans for emergencies.

Michael Baumann, Executive Director of Business Services for Lakeville schools and a retired Army Ranger, calls the system a potential game-changer. “It puts power back into the hands of those who are being violated,” Baumann said, emphasizing the proactive, rather than passive, approach to school security.

With increasing concerns over school safety, 3D Response Systems offers a customizable, life-saving solution tailored to modern challenges.
